Build-Your-Own-Sensor Workshop
On 24 January, CAN hosted a workshop for secondary school students from three different schools in collaboration with the Environmental Campaign Committee as part of the Student Environmental Protection Ambassador Scheme.
Together, the students learned about the in-depth workings of sensors used to detect air pollutants and had hands-on experience in assembling, programming their own sensor as well as reading and analyzing data from their sensor.
The session merged environmental and STEM education in a practical environment where they could see, touch and operate a sample of the equipment used in air monitoring.
