About Clean Air Network

Established in 2009, Clean Air Network (CAN) is the only dedicated air-issue focused NGO in Hong Kong. We believe that clean air, indoors and outdoors, is vital to the health, safety, and overall well-being of our communities.

During the past decade, CAN has made significant contributions—through a combination of education, media, research, and community engagement—to raising public awareness and building support for major government policy changes that improved Hong Kong’s roadside air quality by 36% to 88% between 2004 and 2024, resulting in over a 50% reduction in long-term health risks1.

We are committed to raising awareness about the importance of both indoor and outdoor clean air and inspiring action among individuals and institutions to adopt effective practices that advance our vision and mission: “Clean Air for All”.

CAN will organize annual CAN Step Up event (www.canstepup.org) from this year onwards to grow a community for collectively advancing clean air initiatives.
