
Community Dialogue Connected Stakeholders to Shape the Future of Indoor Air Management
Early this February, to conclude our 2-year Clean Air Neighborhood Project, we hosted our ‘Community Dialogue: Creating Healthy Spaces for Everyone’, bringing together community members and experts to discuss indoor air quality management.
Insights from speakers
Chin Fung (Community Health Nurse, Health in Action)
• Highlighted the links between poor IAQ and health issues including diabetes and mental health
• Emphasized the heightened health risks for children and subdivided flat residents
Prof. Zhi Ning (Professor, HKUST Division of Environment and Sustainability)
• Advocated for continuous monitoring instead of short-term assessments
• Explained how HKUST identified the source of PM2.5 pollution on campus with continuous monitoring and addressed such pollution
Annie Li (Campaign Manager, Clean Air Network)
• Introduced the legal frameworks in France, Korea and Taiwan on IAQ monitoring and improvement (special thanks to DLA Piper for the pro bono support in legal research in France)
