HK’s AQOs set a limit on maximum allowed number of exceedance for major pollutants. For Nitrogen Dioxide, the max. is 18 exceedances per year. In January 2018 alone, Causeway Bay reached the max. already.
In 2017 and 2016, Causeway Bay hit 272 and 134 exceedances respectively. Our question is – who should be accountable for all these breaches? There are loopholes in the system that we must fix.
