Air Community Walk in Sham Shui Po
Ongoing activity in February – August 2024
To help the public understand the real community air quality situation, Clean Air Network organized Hong Kong’s first real-time air monitoring guided tour. This community tour lets participants know more about local air quality issues.
We have now trained seven passionate tour guides. They guide the public to understand how local development affects the environment and how air pollution impacts different groups.
If other organizations are interested in air community walk, please feel free to email us and discuss collaboration possibilities.
Highlights of the Air Community Walk
Community Engagement: Through dialogue, the tour allowed us to understand the impacts of air pollution on different stakeholders.
Air Quality Knowledge: Using real-life examples from daily life to understand the causes behind air quality changes.
Real-time Air Quality Measurement: Utilizing monitoring equipment to measure air quality in real-time and learn basic air quality data analysis
In the past half year, we collaborated with various organizations to host 4 air quality community tours, including the Woven Community Festival and the Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres. These tours let people from diverse backgrounds understand the importance of air quality through community-based exploration and participate in discussions.
